Rotzo — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 September 2026Rotzo is an idle clicker game. It has no accounts, no ads, no in-app purchases and no social features. It works fully offline.
What the app stores on your device
Your game progress (coins, creatures, streaks and settings) is saved only on your device. Deleting the app deletes it.
What the app sends
The app sends anonymous gameplay analytics (for example "a creature was unlocked", "a quiz round was completed", the app version and device model) to PostHog, hosted in the European Union, so the developer can see which parts of the game are working. This data is tied to a random identifier generated on your device and kept until you reset it — never to your name, email, contacts or location, and never to an advertising identifier. You can replace that identifier at any time with Settings › "Reset my anonymous ID", and no message you write in "Message the developer" is required to contain personal information.
The app does not use advertising identifiers, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission because it does no tracking.
Notifications
If you turn reminders on, the app schedules local notifications on your device (for example when your offline earnings are full). They never leave your phone and can be turned off in Settings at any time.
Children
Rotzo is made for a general audience and is played by children. We treat it as child-directed and hold it to children's privacy rules whether or not a given player is under 13.
Rotzo asks for no name, no email, no account, no contacts, no photos, no microphone and no location. The one identifier it does keep is a random ID generated on the device, described above. Under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act a persistent identifier counts as personal information, so we set out here exactly why it exists and what stops it being used for anything else.
Why we collect it. Solely to support the internal operations of the app: counting how many people reach each part of the game, whether a feature is used or ignored, whether players return, and whether something is broken. It lets us tell one returning player from two new ones. Nothing more.
How we stop it being used for anything else. Rotzo contains no advertising, no ad SDK and no advertising identifier; it does not build profiles of players or serve targeted content; it does not track anyone across other apps or websites; and the identifier is never sold, rented or shared for anyone else's purposes. The only company that receives it is PostHog, which processes the data on our instructions inside the European Union and may not use it for its own ends. The app contains no third-party advertising or marketing code of any kind.
How to erase it. Settings › Reset my anonymous ID replaces the identifier with a new random one and discards anything not yet sent, which unlinks the device from everything it sent before. Deleting the app removes it entirely. A parent or guardian who wants past data deleted can write to the address below and we will do it.
Characters
The character names in Rotzo are internet memes created by their respective communities. The artwork, voices and code were made for the app; its sound effects and music are public-domain (CC0) recordings.
